Presumably someone will be Kairaku Jigoku no Toriko (2019)directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but it won't be Taika Waititi.
The Thor: Ragnarokdirector made his position on that one very clear on Monday.

"For me, those are James (Gunn)'s films," Deadline reports him as saying. "Going into something like that with his stamp all over his films, would be like going into someone’s house and saying ‘Hey, I’m your new dad, and this is how we make peanut butter sandwiches now.'

The Guardiansfranchise has been in something of a limbo since last summer, when previous writer/director James Gunn was fired by Disney after people dug up his old offensive tweets.
Disney's decision didn't go down well with the franchise's cast, who shared an open letter of support for Gunn last July.
The firing still stands, though, and -- despite Chris Pratt's recent promise that a third film will happen -- there is still no director attached to the project.
